HISTORIC TOURS

Join us at Bass Cove Family Campground Resort to rediscover the roots of this part of old Ontario. All are within twenty miles of Bass Cove Park. Check out the following historic sites:

 

Old Hay Bay Church (1792)-Oldest Methodist church in Upper Canada, Sir John A Macdonald, our first prime minister, attended church here as a boy.


Church of St.Alban The Martyr (1884)- Anglican- A memorial to United Empire Loyalist.


Glenora Ferry- A free government service, joins Prince Edward County with Lennox & Addington County. A memorable experience for people of all ages.


Lake on the mountain- The mysterious lake that sits 325 ft. above the level of lake Ontario. Its origins are still a mystery.


Old Picton Court House & Gaol (1832) - Greek Revival style architecture. Sir John A. MacDonald practiced law there as a young man.


MacPherrson House (Pre-1830)-Napanee. Built by a prominent merchant. Fine example of late Georgian architecture.

BOATING AND FISHING

Fishing has been popular here for well over a 100 years. The lake offers Atlantic salmon, brown trout, pickerel, perch, shiner, carp, muskies, and three species of bass. Boats marinas are nearby and have many boats available for rent.
